Tim L. Holman
Tim L. Holman became involved in the fire service in 1975 at the German Township Fire & EMS in West central Ohio. He was promoted to chief in 1990 and still holds that position today. He is married to his best friend Terri and they enjoy hiking in their favorite location at Bar Harbor Maine and frequent traveling.
While serving as a volunteer firefighter, Tim worked at a Level 2 trauma center in the position as Director of Pulmonary Services. Much of his medical experience was acquired while working in this position. While employed by the medical center he received The Leader of the Year Award and the Pulmonary team received the Team of the Year Award.
In 1999 Tim co-ordinated the transition from volunteer to paid department at German Township. This was a challenging endeavor but turned out to be very successful.
Tim graduated with honors from Ottawa University in Kansas. He has an extensive background in healthcare management, organizational development, emergency medicine and, the fire service.
Tim has provided leadership and management training to large corporations such as General Motors, Siemens USA, Honeywell, KTH Parts Industry, Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Honda Corporation. He has developed and presented numerous courses for the State of Ohio Human Services. He has worked with small and large fire and EMS departments in 42 states and presented at national, state and local conferences.
Fire Chief Magazine named Tim Fire Chief of the year in 2002. He is a past commissioner of the Center for Public Safety Excellence. He is a member of the International Fire Chiefs (EMS Section and VCOS Section), The Ohio Fire Chiefs and the National Association of EMTs). Tim is a State of Ohio EMS Instructor and serves on the advisory board at Clark State Community College.
Tim is a Certified Fire Arms Instructor, Home Firearms Safety Instructor, Range Officer and is certified in SWAT Tactics. He has over 500 hours training in Hot Zone Active Shooter Response.
Writing articles is a pastime that Tim enjoys and he has published 4 leadership books and one team building book.
Tim enjoys working with the German Township team. Together he states, “We have developed a close knit family team second to none.”
